MedicalDr Michael McDowell
The Child Development Network began in 2001 with just myself in private practice, and since has grown to include a great team. I am a medical Doctor, having completed my medical degree at Sydney University in 1984. Following that I specialised in Paediatrics, (the health care of children) at what was then the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney. ( categories: )
Dr Mick O'Keeffe
After graduating from medical school in 1990, I gained experience in various aspects of medicine in different places around Queensland, but it was paediatrics that really captured my attention. A lot of time in the early part of paediatric training is spent looking after sick children in hospital, but I found myself becoming increasingly interested in children’s learning, development and behaviour. Trying to understand why a child is having difficulties in these areas is something I find fascinating and challenging. Every child and family has their own story! I have completed several years of specialist training in this field. ( categories: )
Dr Catherine Skellern
I am a developmental paediatrician and did my training in paediatrics at both the Mater Children's and Royal Children's Hospitals in the field of community child health. I am originally from New Zealand so I pronounce my vowels a bit differently to Aussies, but consider myself an Aussie now! I continue to work for Queensland Health at the Royal Children's Hospital for part of my week and am very involved at a local and national level in education and training in community child health.
