Margaret Holloway

After graduating from Sydney University Medical School I spent some years working in acute adult medicine and then general family practice. I then decided to specialize in paediatrics and did my training at Sydney Children’s Hospital. For several years after completing my FRACP I worked in regional NSW, then in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital. A significant part of my advanced training and subsequent work was in childhood neurology and neurodisability, as well as developmental and behaviour paediatrics.

In 1998 I commenced working outside Australia, firstly in Singapore and then in the UK, where I acquired my FRCPCH. I cared for many disabled children and those with major adjustment and learning difficulties in North Warwickshire, where I organized their many services and support therapies in association with child psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists and early childhood teachers.

I returned to Australia in 2004 and have worked since then for Queensland Health, in both acute and community settings. I am very happy to continue with this combination of clinical work and look forward to helping the children and families I will meet at the Children’s Development Network, whilst still continuing my work for Metro North Brisbane Division of Queensland Health.
