CDN Policies

Non-Attendence at appointments / Late Cancellations

At the CDN we do our best to provide confirmation and reminders for appointments- either by telephone or by email.

We have changed our policy regarding non-attendances (either with or without notification) for 2007, and will be applying this policy from February onwards.

Privacy

Privacy of clinical information is an important clinical and legal issue. At the CDN, we have a multi-disciplinary work environment where clinical information about children is potentially available to the health professionals and administrative staff who work here.

Clinical Services when Parents are Separated

Breakup of marriages and parenting relationships is common in our society. When parents are separated, the provision of professional services to children may be difficult. This policy covers how we organise services and communication in cases of parental separation.

Difficult Family Situations

Some children are in family situations that make it very difficult for us to provide effective clinical services. In some situations we need to wait until the family related problems are sorted out first. These matters are covered in our policy.

Parental Separation Policy (Clinical Reports)

This policy addresses situations where parents are currently in the middle of separation. The policy states that we will assess children and provide letters / reports only for the clinical benefit of the child, and not for legal purposes such as custody disputes unless this has been explicitly agreed upon beforehand.
